The Aztecs are still on the outside looking in on both National Polls. However SDSU did gain ground with their most recent victory over Wyoming. The Aztecs received 30 votes this week in both Coaches and Associated Press Top-25 Poll.
With the losses by Boise State, UNLV, and Hawai’i, San Diego State is alone atop of the Mountain West Standings and the only Mountain West team to officially receive Top-25 votes in either poll.
#25 Cincinnati’s loss to #19 Utah knocked them down 8-9 spots and #22 Tennessee’s loss to #12 Oklahoma also sent them 8-9 spots. Washington, North Texas, and James Madison have kept pace above SDSU by a healthy margin of votes—as the Aztecs will need to stay unbeaten if they will crack the Top-25 in the next two weeks.
