The Aztecs come in to this weekend of college football ranked at #20 & #21 in both polls. After beating a quality top-30 Air Force team, it looked like SDSU would jump higher in the polls but due to Pittsburgh beating a name brand Clemson team, they leaped higher and kept SDSU limited in their ascension this week. Which goes to show how important this rooting guide can be for you, the college football fan!
This week presents the Aztecs at a hairline favorite over a Conference contender Fresno State. An Aztecs victory, while not of top-25 caliber, is still a quality one. A loss, while definitely a big blow towards Conference championship hopes, wouldn’t be catastrophic in the big picture. Either way, let’s watch as if SDSU will remain undefeated! Here is your list of games to watch and root for in order to help out the Aztecs to keep moving on up in the polls next week!
SATURDAY
#2 Cincinnati @ Tulane 9A ESPN2
While Tulane’s quirky offense gave Oklahoma trouble, their conference mates seem to have it handled so I’m not optimistic here.
#9 Iowa @ Wisconsin 9A ESPN
This should be a baseball score game and in those kinds of games, ANYTHING can happen.
#16 Baylor vs Texas 9A ABC
While perennially overrated, Texas does have the talent to beat anybody. This could be an upset for us.
#17 Pittsburgh vs Miami 9A ACCN
See what I said about Texas, but I’m less optimistic about Miami.
Hawaii @ Utah State 12P Team1 App
The travel and early start are double trouble for Hawaii. Utah State seems to be picking up momentum in the Mountain division as well.
#1 Georgia vs Florida 12:30P CBS
Take what I said about Texas and AMPLIFY it about Florida. Dan Mullen may be coaching for his job at this point as well. The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party should be interesting.
#4 Oklahoma vs Texas Tech 12:30P ABC
I felt a lot better about this game before Wells was fired. Sometimes teams rally and play above their level when their coach is fired though, so you never know.
#7 Oregon vs Colorado 12:30P Fox
Colorado may get shut out in this game.
#13 Wake Forest vs Duke 1P ACCN
Wake Forest’s offense is rolling, so it’s a tough task to think Duke can get us the upset.
SJSU vs Wyoming 1P FS2
This might be another baseball score game. SJSU should be able to handle Wyoming though.
#12 Kentucky @ Mississippi State 4P SECN
This matchup should be a battle that hopefully the Bulldogs of the south can get the upset done.
#15 Oklahoma State vs Kansas 4P FS1
If the Kansas that showed up against Oklahoma shows up for this game, we have a chance.
#19 SMU @ Houston 4P ESPN2
This game has big time implications for us. Not only does it knock out SMU above us, it hurts Cincy’s SOS in case they slip up later in the year to give us a chance to catch them for the Access spot.
Arizona @ USC 4P ESPNU
This would be great for AZ to pull off just for the LOLz at the expense of the USC fan base.
Boise State @ CSU 4P CBSSN
This should be a heck of a game and hopefully BSU can use their magic to pull it off.
#11 Notre Dame vs North Carolina 4:30P NBC
UNC can beat this overrated Notre Dame team. Hopefully some southern hospitality and home cookin can find a way.
Utah vs UCLA 7P ESPN
Utah lost a tough one to Oregon State last week. Hopefully they can rally to knock out the Bruins.
