The Aztecs pulled out one of the most memorable victories in ages. And that’s saying a lot considering all of the momentous wins this program has had the last decade plus. SDSU sits atop the West division in the Mountain West Conference after defeating Nevada. Now at 9-1 and ranked #19 in the nation according to the College Football Playoff Rankings, the Aztecs can do some HUGE damage this week with a victory over UNLV and some help around the FBS.

For resume purposes we need UofA to continue to improve upon their record.
Memphis @ Houston 6P ESPN2
We need to root for AAC teams to lose in order to devalue Cincinnati’s possible wins. This could open up higher rankings for SDSU.
SATURDAY
#10 Wake Forest @ Clemson 9A ESPN
As inconsistent as the Tigers have been this season, Clemson can easily knock off Wake in this game.
#13 Oklahoma vs Iowa State 9A Fox
Oklahoma got exposed last week and this Saturday could be a repeat of that performance against a scrappy Iowa State team.
NMSU @ Kentucky 9A SECN
Oof, hopefully NMSU can put up a better fight than they did against Alabama.
#17 Iowa vs Illinois 11A FS1
Iowa is offensively limited, so that makes them susceptible to an upset to a team like Illinois. This would be a big help in boosting SDSU into those late teen rankings.
#8 Notre Dame vs Georgia Tech 11:30A NBC
GA Tech is improving but I don’t think they’ll have what it takes to do the job for us.
#5 Cincinnati vs SMU 12:30P ESPN
SMU getting the upset would be HUGE for us. Cincy is proving that a G5 team can hang with anyone if built right. But we want that spot for ourselves!
#6 Michigan @ Maryland 12:30P BTN
Michigan should roll a bad Maryland team unfortunately.
#18 Pittsburgh vs Virginia 12:30P ESPN2
VA is a tough team and Pitt is capable of losing to anybody, so this one is on upset watch.
#14 BYU @ Georgia Southern 1P ESPN+
BYU should handle GA Southern unfortunately.
#11 Baylor @ Kansas State 2:30P FS1
Baylor might have a hangover game after their big win last week.
#3 Oregon @ Utah 4:30P ABC
This game is mega for us. We need Utah to win for strength of schedule purposes and also to knock Oregon out of the standings.
#12 Mississippi vs Vandy 4:30P SECN
Not optimistic that Lane Kiffin’s team will choke for us.
#9 Oklahoma State @ Texas Tech 5P Fox
Like Iowa, OK State is offensively limited so they’re on the upset watch board.
Wyoming @ Utah State 5P CBSSN
Like I said on the latest Sons of Montezuma Podcast, a 10-2 Utah State looks better on out resume than any other Mountain division team so we need to root for USU.
