The San Diego State Men’s Basketball team will be a top 25 team next year. With the deadline for college players to return to school, Jaedon LeDee and Lamont Butler both announced that they were returning to the Mesa for another season.

Both had until May 31st to return, but neither kept fans in suspense as they both decided to return with time to spare. Each player got the necessary feedback from NBA teams on what they needed to work and will now return to San Diego to work on improving on the feedback they received.

Ledee’s workout schedule was pretty quiet, but he did meet with teams and was able to get some good feedback on what to work on to improve his game, which was always his intention.

“I got great feedback from the (NBA) people and organizations I met with and know what I need to work on to achieve my goal of playing at the next level.” said the forward out of Houston, Texas.

Butler’s journey was a bit more documented as he trained in Las Vegas, Nevada at Impact Academy, a training center for NBA prospects. There he participated in their pro day and showed a lot of his skills for scouts and fans alike.

Besides the pro day, Butler also worked out with several NBA teams. He had workouts with the Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Utah Jazz.

Butler and Ledee return to a team that brings back Darrion Trammell, Micah Parrish, Miles Byrd, and Elijah Saunders.

The Aztecs also brought in transfer Reese Dixon-Waters and Jay Pal, from USC and Campbell respectively.

Coach Brian Dutcher and staff will now look to add a big man to the mix with one or both of their available scholarships.

With or without an addition at the Center position, the Aztecs look like a top 25 team coming into next year with the return of Butler and Ledee. Another March run could be in the future on the Mesa.
