From June 20th to August 4th, the SWISH League Pro-Am and Sons of Montezuma have partnered to broadcast the NBA Approved and NCAA certified Summer basketball league.

Since their inception, SWISH has grown through a pandemic and various venue changes to build a consistent and quality PRO-AM—all while expanding their operation from San Diego into Phoenix, Arizona.

Now entering their sixth season of play, their partnership with Sons of Montezuma will be billed as, “SWISH SUNDAYS” Game of the Week.

Each Sunday, Sons of Montezuma will live broadcast one full game complete with multiple camera angles, live commentary, and all the sights & sounds of these exciting games in a real hoopers environment.

For us here at sonsofmontezuma.com it is a complete game-changer.

Each Sunday fans & alumni of most every college basketball team in the greater San Diego County area can watch via Sons of Montezuma’s YouTube channel, a player that represents their alma mater in the SWISH league.

For this undertaking, Sons of Montezuma has and continues to build a media team comprised of professionals in the broadcast industry. On top of that, we have opened up the opportunity for several student-journalists from schools in San Diego County to be a part of our sideline commentary team.

The broadcasts will feature teams of 3 media personalities looking to gain experience in the field and they will receive professional guidance through out each week. To actually conduct the play by play of your favorite current or former college player’s game is a chance that just doesn’t come around each day.

Overall our broadcasts will be a chance to highlight all the good work SWISH has done in building up San Diego’s Basketball culture—a sport that has entered onto the biggest stages with San Diego State’s National Championship game run of 2022-2023. But this is not only for the basketball fan up on the Montezuma Mesa.

Various professional players that reference San Diego as home also make their way back to America’s Finest Summer league. These overseas stars welcome the chance to perform in front of family & friends once again during the off season.

SWISH not only creates an opportunity for such players to obtain and catalog valuable game tape for future employment, but the NBA & NCAA credentials provide resource material for SWISH’s NBA sanctioned referees—as every game is conducted according to the league rules & regulations.

This season features SWISH’s 2nd year in a row to be located at ‘The Hive’, San Diego’s famed basketball gym on the Lincoln High school campus. It’s a location that really taps into the soul of San Diego’s hoops culture.

San Diego’s own Norman Powell of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers is a big component of the league finding it’s home at The Hive, his alma mater. And with special Sunday themed games celebrating military servicemen & women, various health screenings & initiatives like the ALS Foundation, Swish is making a difference in the community—not just on the court.

We here at Sons of Montezuma could not be more thankful and excited to be a part of this proud organization’s ascension in San Diego basketball’s rich legacy. To that, we hope to capture, conduct, and portray a broadcast performance that our legendary San Diegan, the late, Bill Walton would find worthy.

All SWISH games live in person at Lincoln high school on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons are free entry and free to park.

All SWISH livestream broadcasts via Sons of Montezuma’s YouTube channel will be free.
