The first Defensive Edge to be taken in the transfer portal for the Aztecs is Nate Henrich of the NCAA Division II Gannon Golden Knights. Gannon competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and the school itself is located at Erie, Pennsylvania.
Henrich is listed as 6’6″ 260 lbs according to 247.com, so he definitely passes the eye test. He is officially finishing up his redshirt sophomore year in college, so when he arrives on the Mesa he should have at least two seasons to play.
This is an interesting pick because of the obvious jump in levels of football. But when you look at his game tape you do see some really nice qualities. Henrich uses a nice mix of moves and shows good strength, speed, and pursuit angles.
Very excited to see what the young man can do, with tempered expectations after what has been seen from Trey White, Ryan Henderson and company this past year in the red & black.
Welcome to The Mesa @henrich_nate
