Although the Aztecs will host on Homecoming to defend the Old Oil Can and last season’s dominating shut out victory in the valley, the oddsmakers have tabbed Fresno State as a 8.5-point favorite against SDSU.
The Aztecs opened as 8.5-point underdogs, and the line may grow even more in the Bulldogs favor since depending upon this week’s PAC-12 availability report.
San Diego State is 1-5 against the spread to this point in the season, and the Aztecs have failed to score any first half touchdowns in 4 of their 6 games. Fresno State hasn’t had similar success against the spread, holding a 1-5 mark despite a 6-0 overall record. SDSU’s lone cover in its 31-29 win over Texas State on Oct. 3.
The Aztecs have held a lead in the all-time series against the Bulldogs, with a 32-27-4 record in games against ‘the team up north’ — including a 2-game winning streak.
In 2023, the Aztecs took care of business of the Bulldogs, 33-18 at Snapdragon Stadium. Last season in 2025, SDSU dominated Fresno State in the valley, shutting out the Bulldogs 23-0, for the first time in their Valley Children’s Stadium facility.
However, the Bulldogs have been playing good football this season, despite last week’s 38-31 home loss to #23 Boise State. No doubt Fresno State will be looking for revenge when they travel down the 15 freeway to take on the Aztecs
CBS Sports Network will carry this PAC-12 After Dark Kickoff between the Aztecs and Bulldogs, with kickoff set for 7:30pm Pacific standard time.
