What the Sons of Montezuma Have To Say

We were all surprised when Josh chose to stay home in San Diego. He’s the 10th highest rated player ever to sign with SDSU. He’s got so much strength and gets to the next level to finish his blocks extremely well. I don’t think there would be anything to preclude him from playing tackle just based on his physical build. He’s maybe the #1 rated guard in California coming into SDSU.

Josh Simmons was a big time national recruit with many offers. SDSU took advantage of this top prospect being in their own backyard and knew you do not pass up on this type of talent. Josh is so dominant he can both sides of the line if he ever wanted to. But to have him on the O-line is enough for me. I’d rather have him be a stud right guard than right tackle even for his own next level aspirations. He and Ross Maseuli should be a terrific tandem together. They give SDSU a huge boost in being the top Mountain West recruiting class of 2021.

Josh Simmons has the ability to be an instant impact player at State. He is a mammoth of a man that plays with that nastiness that the Aztecs need in our style of offense. Seems like he is a character guy staying home to be close to his family as he said his mother wished!
