San Diego State’s Oct. 11 road game at Nevada will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PST and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
When the Aztecs go to battle with the Wolf Pack at Mackay Stadium this Saturday it will be the final matchup between the two as members of the Mountain West Conference. The two became conference mates beginning in 2012 when Nevada joined the conference as part of an expansion that included Fresno State. The Wolf Pack joined one year after Boise State, and one year before San Jose State and Utah State.

It will be the 17th matchup between the two with San Diego State holding a slim 9-7 edge over Nevada. The Aztecs have won two of the last three, but the Wolf Pack have knocked off the Aztecs in four of the last six.
The two did not play each other last season, but last met in San Diego in 2023 when a winless Wolf Pack defeated the Aztecs surprising the program and eventually leading to the end of an era of Brady Hoke’s coaching tenure.
Though the Wolf Pack are not near the top of the conference power rankings in 2025, the one upside to their season thus far is that they are battle tested.
Head coach Jeff Choate is in his second season at Nevada and stands at 1-4 overall with losses to Penn State, Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky. Their only victory came in a close 20-17 home win vs Sacramento State. The Wolf Pack are 0-1 in Mountain West Conference play so far, suffering a loss last weekend to Fresno State by the same inverted score of 20-17.
After this Saturday’s game in Reno the Aztecs will have their 2nd and final bye week of the season, before hitting the road again for a rivalry game against Fresno State on October 25th.
